As Director of Philanthropic Partnerships at Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Cathy Sheffield works closely with donors and their professional advisors to help individuals and families achieve their charitable goals in meaningful and strategic ways. Much of her work centers on building relationships with attorneys, financial advisors, CPAs, and other professionals across Middle Tennessee to support philanthropy that creates lasting community impact. She also helps lead legacy giving initiatives, steward donor relationships, and collaborate across the Foundation to connect generosity with opportunities that strengthen communities for generations to come.

“Giving is deeply personal work, and I feel incredibly honored to collaborate with donors and their professional advisors as they think about the impact they want to make and the legacy they hope to leave behind,” says Cathy. “Watching donors realize they truly can change lives, support the causes they love, and maximize the benefits of charitable giving in meaningful ways is an incredible gift.”

Outside of work, Cathy enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her beloved fur babies, Teddy Roosevelt and Siouxsie Sioux. She loves exploring Nashville, traveling the world, discovering great restaurants, and listening to live music whenever she can. During football season, she can also be found cheering on the TCU Horned Frogs and the North Dakota State Bison.

The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.
