This scholarship fund is a part of the CFMT General Scholarship Application that is open annually from December 1st to February 1st.

Eligibility: George Langstaff founded The Sponsors Scholarship Program in 1995 to address a challenging American problem of how to encourage students to obtain an adequate post high school education improve their long-term economic prospects, and strengthen the overall economic environment in our community.

For more than 20 years, through an all-volunteer effort, The Sponsors identified financially disadvantaged young people of promise through recommendations from a network of school guidance counselors and youth organization staff members. In that time, The Sponsors awarded more than $2.5 million in college scholarships to hundreds of students in Middle Tennessee and Allen County, Kentucky. It is the purpose of the Sponsors Scholarship Fund to continue George’s vision and the legacy of the nonprofit organization — The Sponsors Scholarship Program — he established in perpetuity through The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
