Eileen Howe Crenshaw used her talent as an educator to touch so many lives throughout middle Tennessee, encouraging her students to achieve and explore the world beyond what they could have ever imagined. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Martin and Tennessee State, Mrs. Crenshaw taught English at College Grove and Page high schools, where she took thousands of students—many of whom had never left Tennessee—on exciting trips to destinations around the world.
Mrs. Crenshaw never truly retired, but continued teaching English at Nashville State Community College Nashville. Mrs. Crenshaw taught far beyond any official curriculum, aiming to prepare her students for college, life, marriage, and more. Her unconditional love and high standards left a permanent impression on many students, and her memorial scholarship fund aims to continue her legacy of educational excellence in support of her community.
