History: Across cultures and throughout history, the torch has symbolized wisdom, learning, and hope. For Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, it shines especially bright as a reminder of the power of women supporting women. To carry that light forward, the Past Presidents of the Nashville City Council of Beta Sigma Phi created the Nashville Beta Sigma Phi Torch Fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. This fund uplifts gifted young women in the fine and performing arts —helping them turn raw talent into realized potential.

Teachers, ministers, counselors, and other caring adults often recognize these aspiring artists—girls with extraordinary creativity but limited resources. Through this fund, support can come in many forms: music lessons, tutoring, instruments, art supplies, dance classes, and countless other tools to help their gifts shine.

The Nashville Beta Sigma Phi Torch Fund exists thanks to the vision of Beta Sigma Phi’s past presidents and the generosity of hundreds of donors who believe in investing in the next generation of women artists. Together, they are lighting the way for creativity, opportunity, and brighter futures.

The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.
