James Fall Presley died peacefully November 9, 2021, in Frankfort, Kentucky with his family by his side.
Born January 18, 1984, in Nashville, Tennessee, James attended St. George’s Kindergarten, Westminster School, Benton Hall Academy, the Center for Living and Learning, and Stewart Home & School, where he lived and flourished the past 17 years.
James was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his mother Edna Wade Presley, his father Joseph Kempton Presley, his sister Anne Presley McGinn (Patrick), his brother Kempton Wade Presley (Patty Bea), his nephew Kempton Wade Presley, Jr., and his niece Lucy Bea Presley.
An artist and musician, James had an extremely creative spirit revealed through beautiful paintings, a wonderful singing voice, and skills with the handbells. He lived life to the fullest, often eating dessert first. He loved all things Star Wars and was always entertained by Goosebumps movies. He naturally verbalized what everyone else was thinking; he even introduced his own vocabulary, affectionately known as “James-isms” by his friends and family.
Following a wonderful childhood in Nashville, James thrived at Stewart Home & School in Frankfort, Kentucky, enjoying great friendships, fulfilling activities, and a loving environment of lifelong learning. Among his many accolades, he was crowned Homecoming King, served in student government, and was a multi-year medalist in the bass fishing tournament. Never meeting a stranger, he left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
James’ infectious laugh, imaginative one-liners, genuine perspective, and pure spirit are eternal gifts that will live on through his family and friends in Nashville and Frankfort. James was one of kind, and our love for him will last forever. Live like James!
