Hallie was an enthusiastic nine-year old girl full of life and joy. Even with three older brothers, she had no problem making her presence known. Often sweaty and barefoot, Hallie loved being outside, spending time with friends, playing basketball and soccer, and searching for the next fun thing to do. She loved her family, her pets, her church, her school, her friends, and indiscriminately, all the people God brought into her life. Hallie’s precious life was cut short by the tragic school shooting at the Covenant School on March 27, 2023.
In Hallie’s memory and the memory of other children who have lost their lives to school violence, her family has created the Hallie Scruggs Fund. The fund will honor Hallie’s legacy by supporting non-profit organizations in various ways, such as helping provide scholarships for other school-age children, assisting missionaries and mission works both locally and globally, and lifting up other families in their own times of need.
