ChildcareTennessee Initiative: In partnership with the Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS), ChildcareTennessee at The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee provides several resources and grants to Tennessee’s licensed childcare programs. Our goal is to strengthen quality, increase capacity and promote compliance of licensing standards to support improved child outcomes in early childhood education and enhance childcare programs.

The Regional Coordinator provides training and technical assistance to licensed childcare providers across the State of Tennessee. This position supports licensed childcare providers in accessing resources, navigating grant processes, and understanding compliance requirements. This remote work arrangement requires 1-2 meetings each month in-office in Nashville, TN, and travel within the state of Tennessee.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-line and in-person training and technical assistance visits with childcare providers regrading resources.
  • Assist childcare providers with grant applications and final reporting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with government requirements.
  • Process grant applications and other forms received from childcare providers.
  • Attend company, departmental, government partner and governmental meetings, training sessions, and conferences.
  • Develop training materials for childcare providers.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Early childhood education knowledge or experience required
  • Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 proficiency required
  • Ability and resources to work remotely on a consistent basis, including reliable internet access
  • Available transportation to travel within the state of Tennessee
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport in person, over the phone and by email
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage projects and prioritize different types of tasks

Additional Information

Job Type: Full-time, salaried

Hours: Typical work hours are M-F 8:30 – 4:30, though hours may vary at the discretion of the employee or supervisor, as the work requires,

Compensation: $50,000 – $52,000 annually, depending on experience and skill level
