The suffering in Haiti is far from over, and the anguish of a people, a community, and a country confronts us daily.
As Haiti faces long-term challenges, The Community Foundation is looking to provide not only a charitable response – that of responding to a need – but a philanthropic one – that of a strategic approach to providing creative solutions for need.
Through this disaster, the Middle Tennessee community has responded to the severe needs in the aftermath of Haiti’s earthquake with an outpouring of gifts. And, The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee continues to accept donations of any size to our Haiti Earthquake Response Fund, ensuring every gift matters and is pooled with others to make the most difference possible.
The Community Foundation looks for areas in which we can provide maximum impact through our grantmaking, and initially made a grant from the fund to address urgent medical needs by providing medical supplies and equipment to be used on the ground in Haiti.
Now, The Community Foundation is learning how best to provide a philanthropic response, thinking ahead to the challenges of recovery. Whether it is helping supply fertilizer and seeds for food and farming or investing in a micro-loan program already working in Haiti and creating livelihoods, The Community Foundation will make additional grants in areas where your contributions, of any size, have impact and provide solutions for Haiti.
Give a donation of any amount to the Haiti Earthquake Response Fund, and call us anytime at 615-321-4939.
