‘Wanderlust’ Party to Unveil $2,000 Travel Voucher Winner During June 12 Event
Nashville, Tenn. – The fifth annual Brooks Fund ‘Wanderlust’ Travel Raffle and Live Announcement Party is just around the corner, and all Middle Tennesseans are invited to attend for their chance to win a $2,000 travel voucher for the trip of their choice. The event, which is being held Friday, June 12, at the Lane Motor Museum, benefits the H. Franklin Brooks Philanthropic Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a charitable fund dedicated to encouraging the inclusion, acceptance and recognition of Middle Tennessee's LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community. Travel raffle tickets are $50 and go on sale May 1 at www.thebrooksfund.org.
“The funds we raise during the annual ‘Wanderlust’ raffle are vitally important to the support and development of programs that enhance the quality of life for the LGBT community in Middle Tennessee,” said Suzanne Bradford, Brooks Fund board chair. “We are grateful for the community’s continued support and encourage those who haven’t attended Wanderlust in the past to join us this year for what promises to be an entertaining evening.”
Wanderlust Travel Raffle guests will enjoy fabulous door prizes, a silent auction, entertainment by DJ Mindub, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. A $50 raffle ticket covers both entrance to the party and a chance to win the $2,000 voucher good for travel in the U.S. and abroad. The raffle winner will be announced during the Wanderlust Party but does not have to be present at the raffle to win. Party only tickets are $35. The Lane Motor Museum is located at 702 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37210. About The H. Franklin Brooks Philanthropic
Fund
Franklin Brooks was one of the most beloved
figures on the Vanderbilt University campus.
While at Vanderbilt, Franklin was instrumental
in leading the dialogue that eventually
helped include gays and lesbians in Vanderbilt's
anti-harassment policy in the late 1980s.
After Franklin's death in 1993, a group of his friends wanted to honor him and to continue his forthright championing of human rights, and so The Brooks Fund was created at The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
The H. Franklin Brooks Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee exists to protect the dignity, the safety and the health of Middle Tennessee’s LGBT community. By supporting and encouraging the development of programs, The Brooks Fund increases philanthropic options and opportunities within the LGBT community. For more information, visit www.thebrooksfund.org.
The Brooks Fund Travel Raffle was made possible by the Charitable Gaming Act, which passed with the lottery initiative in 2003.
