The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee Awards More Than $990,000 in Grants
Nashville, Tennessee – The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee has distributed more than $900,000 to 198 nonprofit organizations in 30 Middle Tennessee counties as part of The Foundation’s annual grantmaking process.
“As needs in Middle Tennessee grow the work of our nonprofit partners to provide vital services and innovative programs has never been more important,” said Ellen Lehman, president of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. “The Foundation is honored to connect generosity with need through our annual grantmaking, and congratulates nonprofits on their efforts to improve quality of life for our community.”
Discretionary grants are used by The Foundation to respond to emerging needs, new programs and innovative services and are awarded through an application process to tax-exempt, nonprofits serving Middle Tennessee. The Foundation is particularly interested in proposals that help address areas of need in the community that are currently unmet.
Grants address a variety of programs including the arts and humanities, conservation and preservation, environment, education, employment and training, health and human services, housing, and economic and community development.
