The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee Awards More Than $1 Million in Grants
Nashville, Tennessee – The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee has distributed more than $1 million to 202 nonprofit organizations throughout 30 Middle Tennessee counties as part of The Foundation’s annual grantmaking process.
“The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee connects generosity with need by supporting our region’s hard-working nonprofit organizations,” said Ellen Lehman, president of The Community Foundation. “The Foundation appreciates that these programs matter, congratulates the organizations on their efforts and salutes the dedicated people who work to enhance the quality of life in our community.”
Discretionary grants are used by The Foundation to respond to emerging needs, new programs and innovative services and are awarded through an application process to tax-exempt, nonprofits serving Middle Tennessee. The Foundation is particularly interested in proposals that help address areas of need in the community that are currently unmet.
Grants address a variety of programs including the arts and humanities, conservation and preservation, environment, education, employment and training, health and human services, housing, and economic and community development.
