Arts Build Communities (ABC)

In partnership with the Tennessee Arts Commission and funded by the Tennessee General Assembly, Arts Build Communities (ABC) serves to strengthen communities by funding projects that nurture artists, arts organizations and arts supporters in each of Tennessee’s 95 counties.

Arts Center of Cannon County • To provide a series of multidisciplinary art classes for children to adults

Boiler Room Theatre • To produce a full-scale musical production of Into the Woods

Bryan Symphony Orchestra • To present a subscription concert featuring Joseph Alessi, principal trombone from the New York Philharmonic

College Grove Senior Enrichment Center • To support artists in a production of Could it be Love

Community Spirit, Inc. • To support the production of the Spirit, a telling of the Bell Witch legend

Crossville Arts Council • To provide a variety of bluegrass styles and music during Depot Days

Cumberland Artisans for Creative Expression • To exhibit visual, performing, and literary art of youth in Cumberland County

Cumberland County Playhouse • To provide production materials for the student mainstage production

Cumberland University • To present a series of exhibitions and gallery talks

Pegram Elementary School • To use recycled materials to study dimensional art

St. Clair Street Senior Center • To provide a series of dance and musical programs for seniors

Uffelman Elementary School • To present artists and musicians in a hands-on craft, music-making, and storytelling festival

Upperman High School • To teach students the behind the scenes skills to work with professional actors, designers, and technicians

VSA Arts Tennessee • To bring a visual artist to work with 40 special education students at Westmoreland High School to create a mural

White County Middle School • To expand the Renaissance festival activities

Williamson Co Youth Orchestra • To perform a film music concert featuring the orchestra and junior orchestra

Youth Empowerment Through Arts & Humanities (YEAH) • To provide a series of workshops for children focusing on understanding audio recordings

Student Ticket Subsidy

The Student Ticket Subsidy program is designed to ensure that Tennessee’s school-aged children have access to live performance. The program is available to public school students, and the Fund reimburses ticket costs for children in the 40 counties The Community Foundation serves.
