The Community Foundation recently awarded more than $900,000 million to 198 Middle Tennessee nonprofits through its annual grant process. In the past 18 years, The Foundation has distributed $440 million to community programs and institutions.

Global Education Center - To offer an afterschool arts program for youth featuring international dance, world percussion, poetry and crafts

Nashville Opera Association - To support the educational outreach operas designed for schools and community venues

Tennessee Women's Theater Project - To support artistic fees and set design for the upcoming theatrical season

Youth Speaks Nashville - To coordinate and execute the regional youth poetry slam

New Union Elementary School - To provide weekly art lessons for approximately 460 children in K-5th grades

Cumberland Heights Foundation, Inc. - To host a Children's Recovery Camp for children of adult female drug/addicted patients without financial means to attend

Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee Inc. - To provide scholarships for girls attending the spring/summer resident camps.

Grace M. Eaton Child Care Center - To subsidize childcare for 23 children

Mending Hearts, Inc. - To provide bus passes and operating costs for organization's transportation services

Sexual Assault Center - To provide therapy for 15 low-income girls who have been victims of sexual abuse

Siloam Family Health Center - To provide patients in transitional/rehabilitation programs physical and mental health screenings

Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition - To provide emergency financial assistance to individuals who are undergoing breast cancer treatments

YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee - To provide safe transportation for women and their children fleeing domestice violence

Friends in General - To provide no cost mammography screenings and follow-up care for women in Davidson and surrounding counties

Renewal House - To provide case management services to substance-addicted mothers in recovery

Next Door - To provide a 6-month curriculum for women coming from incarceration, homelessness, or inpatient addiction treatment

Families in Crisis, Inc. - To provide direct services to victims of domestic violence

Shelter, Inc. - To provide emergency housing and assistance to victims of domestic violence
