Meet Me Halfway Fund
Jimmy Wayne's Meet Me Halfway For country singer songwriter Jimmy Wayne, the first step to maximizing his charitable efforts was just that – a bold step. In 2010, he embarked on the Meet Me Halfway campaign, a 1,700-mile walk from Nashville to Phoenix. Jimmy partnered with The Community Foundation by setting up a Fund to impact the cause he’s passionate about, and to allow others motivated by the journey to contribute too.
Having grown up in foster care and experienced homelessness at a young age, Jimmy never forgot the help he got along the way to get to where he is today. Through continuing Meet Me Halfway outreach efforts, Jimmy is highlighting the struggles youth face as they age out of the foster care system, often with no support for their education, employment or housing. With The Community Foundation’s help, he is maximizing his efforts through the Fund to raise awareness and much-needed dollars to benefit homeless and at-risk youth.
