The Josh Turner Scholarship Fund
Jennifer and Josh Turner have created the Josh Turner Scholarship Fund within The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. In keeping with Josh’s journey to a successful career in the music industry, despite having grown up without the benefit of a comprehensive arts program in his high school, the Fund is intended to endow permanently one or more scholarships benefiting students from primarily rural areas who wish to enter the music business or undertake a career in the arts.
The Josh Turner Scholarship Fund will focus on high school seniors, helping them get an introduction to the various career opportunities in the music business including performing, writing, publishing, managing, producing, and beyond, or some discipline of the arts, including graphic design, video production, photography, painting, etc.
The Scholarship will first be awarded to students in Josh’s former high school, the Hannah - Pamplico School in South Carolina. From that beginning, as funds become available, the Scholarship may include other schools and districts. Scholarship recipients will attend a post-secondary school with a substantial arts curriculum.
Applications for the Josh Turner Scholarship Fund will be available from The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee in the Spring of 2009, with a deadline for submission of March 15, 2009. Decisions will made by mid-May.
