12-20-12 UPDATE: Deadline to tweet for the final drawing has been extended to 4:00 p.m. on December 20.

It’s a two-week sprint to support a favorite charity with a tweet & help from The Community Foundation (CFMT)! During the hustle & bustle of the holidays, here’s a chance to make a difference. Our Holiday Tweet-a-Thon will give $2,500 to Middle Tennessee nonprofits nominated by CFMT’s followers on Twitter!

Simply tweet a nonprofit you love – they could win a grant from us to put toward their work through our random drawings of nominated nonprofits (CONTEST STARTS DEC. 7, SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS).

3 steps to participate & support your favorite charity:

1.

Follow CFMT on Twitter at http://twitter.com/CFMT. The campaign runs December 7–21. HURRY, don’t miss your chance to help a charity with a simple tweet!

2.

Submit a nonprofit by tweeting this sentence:

#ChirpforCharity Help (insert favorite nonprofit here) get up to $2,000 from @CFMT by RT this! Info: http://ht.ly/fSLis

Tweets eligible for selection must include @CFMT. Please include the tag #ChirpforCharity to help us track entries.

3.

The more tweets for your nonprofit, the better the chance of its selection. Selection will be by a random drawing, but each time a nonprofit is submitted by a unique Twitter user, its name will be put into the drawing. Ask friends & followers to retweet you so your nonprofit of choice gets more entries in the drawing!

Don't delay - All nonprofits nominated during the two-week campaign period are eligible to win the GRAND PRIZE drawing on Dec. 21, AND cumulative nonprofit nominations throughout the two-week period will be counted (each unique user tweeting a nonprofit = entry into the random drawing)! How it works – What qualifies a nonprofit to win:

1. To qualify to be entered into CFMT's drawings, nonprofit organizations submitted must be profiled in GivingMatters.com and a qualified 501(c)3 serving the 40 counties of Middle Tennessee, which is CFMT’s service area. Churches, temples and other places of worship are not eligible for the giveaway.

2. A nonprofit organization can win only one of the first two drawings (Dec. 12 and Dec. 18). For the GRAND PRIZE $1,500 drawing on Dec. 21, ALL nonprofits nominated during the two-week campaign period are eligible to win, AND cumulative nominations throughout the two-week period will be counted as entries in the random drawing. That means, the earlier you start getting tweets, the better!

3. A nonprofit does not need its own Twitter account to be nominated. You can include that nonprofit's name if they don't have a Twitter handle.
